Alicia Sledge
Alicia has always enjoyed reading and has been writing on and off since primary school. She has spent many years working in education in a Learning Support role, specialising in English and art. Over the past few years, she has finally found time to return to her love of writing as well as creating art, both painting and textiles.
Most of Alicia’s writing takes the form of flash fiction, short stories and poetry and she has had various pieces published in a number of anthologies. Her writing tends towards a more light-hearted tone, although it does occasionally take a more reflective one, particularly when writing poetry.
Alicia finds her inspiration in a wide variety of arenas: from places visited, especially those that are old or atmospheric which can include buildings or landscapes; people she sees or meets, or fragments of conversations overheard; from old photographs or information discovered when doing family history research, or even from everyday situations.
